Families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack have lauded the Indian government and armed forces for launching Operation Sindoor, calling it a fitting response to the tragedy that took their loved ones. The operation, which targeted terror infrastructure across the border, has sparked emotional reactions from families who see it as a step toward justice.
Yatish, the nephew of one of the victims, expressed his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Army. “PM Modi and our Army took revenge by launching Operation Sindoor, and we thank them for that. PM Modi should eliminate terrorism once and for all,” he told ANI on Saturday.
In Pune, Kunal Ganbote, son of another victim, Kaustubh Ganbote, echoed similar sentiments. “Whatever steps the government has taken, we are satisfied and we support them. The military action was a tribute to those who lost their lives in Pahalgam. We thank the people and the military of India for standing with us in this tough time,” he said.
Asavari Jagdale, daughter of Santosh Jagdale, another victim, described her emotional reaction: “We were crying with happiness. Modi has taken revenge, and the name of the operation touched us deeply. Those sisters whose sindoor was wiped away by terrorists—India has now struck back. These are tears of joy.”
Sanjay Dwivedi, father of Shubham Dwivedi, also spoke of restored faith in the Indian government, saying the Army’s action reaffirmed his belief in national leadership and justice.
Meanwhile, tensions between India and Pakistan remain high. India on Saturday accused Pakistan of violating the ceasefire understanding reached between the two countries’ Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs). Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri emphasized that India takes these violations “very seriously” and that the Armed Forces have been instructed to retaliate appropriately.
India has urged Pakistan to uphold the agreement and act responsibly to prevent further escalation.
